Three favorites:
Brighton Rock. Brian May's leads are monstrous.
Ogre Battle. Madness electrified.
'39. Perhaps the best song from A Night at the Opera.

The resurrection of this thread was all too warranted. |

That is an intimate way of spelling the band's name. But what would ex-fans know? (and yay! ) |

Queen fans that can't spell Queen? Yeah, I have no problem admiting that I stopped being really into Queen a long time ago. I think it's because their lyrics have stopped speaking to me. But as I've mentioned, the documentary kinda rekindled the romance. The music is really f**king good... |

Us real Kwien fans have known for quite some time that Brian stopped dyeing his hair. But anyway, would it have killed Deaky if he had participated with an interview? I would've liked to hear a different point of view on Hot Space, poor album got trashed like there was no tomorrow. And don't get me started on the making of Made in Heaven. [/RANT] All in all, good documetary with fantastic unseen footage ( the recording of We Are the Champions in the studio ), slightly hard to watch at times, but I really enjoyed the fresh approach Now I am looking forward to the Freddie-Jacko tracks. Latest news: State of Shock has Red Special on it ! |

You mean the band that have epitomised art classic rock, have had hits up to their eyeballs, who are liked and respected by musicians and the general public alike, number one albums, one of the greatest singers and frontmen of all time, have had a musical made of their songs... There's more. But yes, without a doubt one of the best bands to ever grace the stage. Awesome can't even describe them.

Great band. Quite eclectic, especially on 'a night at the opera'.
Fans of Queen should rush on Valensia, as he is the best Freddie Mercury clone (and he also tries to sound like Brian May on the guitar).

Queen's early material is no doubt my favorite. Queen II is such an
incredible album and is still put on regular rotation in my car. Of
course, they've made music through their career that I've enjoyed (even
in the 80's when they mostly made corny synth pop music), and of course
Innuendo at the very end of their career is another brilliant album.

My favourite line of the documentary so far:
"MTV were very narrow-minded. Is was Whitesnake, and f**kING Whitesnake, and then another Whitesnake track!" |

for me in terms of rock bands that have achieved divine importance on both art rock and rock in general that everyboddy likes or know
Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Queen...
and Queen is extremly good, I love innuendo (the song), and there early songs and albums

Most important than anything else:
What happened to Brian's hair??? Also, god: I'd forgotten how hot he was in the 70s. Also, I didn't know they shot that Top Of The Pops performance in the weather studio |

Nice, thanks for posting that. A little Irish friend of ours actually mentioned that documentary on his radio show and I thought "damn, I don't have BBC!" And , Roger smoking... Edited by June - May 31 2011 at 16:54 |
