Hello reader,
Just found this website on the internet and it seems to be the best site for progressive rock discussion. I'm new in the genre of progressive rock. Ofcourse I know the famous names and have listned to prog.
I've got two friends who introduced me in the genre and I liked it instantly. They are my 'music guides' and let me listnen to new music.
Recently they formed a music couple and made their own prog rock (or at least music which I think let's describes itself best as prog rock) with the use of their computers and instruments.
Januari this year they finished their first totally selfmade album and launched it in Amsterdam!
Now allmost a year later they got back their self-invested money, which is great ofcourse, but it 99% came from family and friends buying the cd.
They would like to become a bit more known.
Because I'm studying some economic study and have a 'nice chat' they wanted me as their 'manager'. They are going to make a new album and want to do it better then their last one. Get help from some 'professional' musicians and mix the album properly. In other words they want to become more professional. I'm flattered that they think they can accomplish their goal with my help, being a new kid with no contacts at all.
Ofcourse the music is on Myspace and Last.fm but they don't get picked a lot. I don't know if it is because the music just isn't good enough or they haven't done much 'promotion'. As you, reading this message on this specialized prog forum, propably know a lot about (new) prog rock music, could you mayby listnen to their music and give me some feedback of what you think of it and if you liked it.
I don't know that well where to start to get them in the picture in music land. Mayby you can give me some advice on how to start 'managing' a band.
And, at last, I hope I'm not doing anything against the rules of the forum right now, also I didn't know where to start this topic. Hope this place is the right place.
With kind regards,
Luca
