I'm the one who added him here, so definitely I'm interested. His voice is so rich in textures and emotion, and the guy had a long and impressive cast of supporting artists he played with; I don't think he gets the credit he deserves in the pantheon of great musicians and vocalists.

I love him! He was the most powerful singer in Poland.
Here's a very nice video for much better (IMO) Polish version of Mourning Rhapsody (Bema pamięci rapsod żałobny): BTW, here's my Czeslaw Niemen Appreciation Thread with some other videos too. It's a real shame he died in 2004... Edited by Tuzvihar - September 12 2009 at 04:17 |

I have relisten to the majestic song Mourner's Rhapsody, really make you have in tears, specially if you listen at 2:00 am. The vocals harmonies of Niemen is so powerful and sorrow- ish at the same time, what wonderful music have done this great musician. I love the interplay between the guitar and organ. I think that is time to the younger generation of prog fans should discover the sheer musical genius of one of the best music man in Poland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb_gvgiiy1Y |
