A digital download album available through iTunes or Amazon is acceptable Smile ... Wink

Open a thread in Suggest New Bands with your artist name and possible subgenre in the title and someone from the appropriate team will pick it up from there. Any furhter info you could give us such as musical style, influences, brief biog etc would also be useful.

I'm unsigned but released an album in July. I'm published, but have no "official" label.

Do I post links to my recent album in "Unsigned Bands" or "Suggest New Bands and Artists"?

The band submission procedure in the latter states :

"either a physical item like CD/DVD/Vinyl for sale on demand must be available and/or complete albums for download are offered via services like CD Baby and similar."

I assume iTunes and Amazon Music are viable options. You can purchase the entire album there, though I have eschewed hard goods (Physical media? How 20th century!)  :)

The unsigned forums says:

"Only bands with no official releases (see below), but with the intention of publishing an official release at some point shall be spotted."

I have an official release. I assume that means I can't go there? I'm not even sure if this is "proggy" enough. The music is heavily prog-influenced. Can I get the community to make a call on that?

"Once an official release is available the band shall go to the Suggest New Bands forum or to the Genre Teams evaluation depending on their quality/progginess, etc."

I can't find a process for engaging the Genre Teams. How should I proceed? Or is that more of a "down from on-high" sort of thing? ;)

Thanks for any direction you can send me in.
