In the last year and a half I've learned that I can handle only one musical project at a time, because while I was jamming with a couple of bands (not at the same time) I got zero seconds of my own recordings done. But now both of the bands have gone to hell, so I'm back trying to finish this eternal burden of mine Only a bass solo (yeah!) and some keyboards to do to the "album" closing epic, and then I might quickly re-record one track which was originally recorded very roughly when my primary computer was broken. And some re-mixing and whatnot, but this time I'm seriously expecting a release sometime this year

Whoops, sorry. I removed the tracks from Last.fm to give me some motivation to finish the rest of the stuff I've got under construction, so that I'd have a complete "album" to upload. Now I've pretty much got an intro and four tracks recorded and the fifth, the epic, is still missing pretty much everything except the drums. I was going to record it this summer, but turns out I didn't I'll try to continue soon, and then when it's all done I'll upload them all

Can't believe I never saw this. Hey Pekka, if you ever get a chance, anyway you can upload this music so I can hear it? Last.fm isn't much use anymore.

I keep delaying the new track. Sorry Pekka, I'm just addicted to Gentle Giant...

Thanks Damo! Last.fm tells me you listened to the two older tracks, if you enjoyed them you could give the new one a spin as well

Thanks guys This new track is the first one I've finished that didn't have a self-imposed time limit, so it's not a surprise some people have commented that this is my best one yet

Allright, finally I'm done with the new track. Three months, actually a bit over three months it took from start to finish, but here it is: http://www.last.fm/music/I+Am+Three+People Free download, free stream, however you like. Please listen and comment It's the first song on that artist page, The Thripshaw's Disease, here's a direct link that hopefully works, as I just couldn't make the link to the track page work: http://freedownloads.last.fm/download/380620158/The%2BThripshaw%2527s%2BDisease.mp3 |

Oh come on Thanks Marty!
The new one will in a way be the heaviest of the tracks so far, the composition has been entirely guitar based. Let's see how I can spice it up with bass, there will probably be very few keyboard parts on it, we'll see.

Indeed, great songs. Not knowing that it's you and project that started just year ago, I would say that you're some kind of established prog rock band. Very good one Pekka, you've made it. More songs like these and who knows, maybe PA artist page :-) |

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

I've got a new track I'm working on at the moment, I'll bump this in case there's still some ignorant person left unconverted to my massive fan army. And so that I'll find the thread more easily when I've got some actual reason to update.
I've still got to work a couple of things out before I can start recording, hopefully by next week...

One last bump before returning some day with a new song. I've got one piece pretty well demoed some months ago, perhaps I'll find time and will to complete that some day soon.

Wow, thank you These tracks are all by me, guitars, bass, drums and in Sour Milk also keyboards. I consider myself very much a clumsy amateur on all of them (keyboards especially, I've had one for a few months only and I haven't played it very much) but when I don't try to play too complex stuff I can make myself sound pretty good it seems

Back!
Just listened to Stunt Codpiece - Very good, and quite Porcupine Tree-ish at the same time... I like it! Sour Milk In Heavy Weather - Also very Porcupine Tree, but also very, very good! I like this more than the first track by a small margin, but both are very solid. Which instrument/s do you play on these tracks? Thanks! -Joel |
