Topic: I make the rockin' world go round. Posted: September 05 2009 at 15:10 |
OK! I admit I was attracted to the topic by the words 'Fat Bottomed Girl', and not because I'm a fan of Queen. Does that make me weird? Anyway welcome, Amply Proportioned Gluteus Maximus Female. You don't like Yes or Rush? That's OK, I can't get into Genesis and George Formby rocks!

You don't need to announce reviews, the wolves will have devoured them before you get a chance to anyway. Welcome and enjoy the site and maybe even the wierd company.
Just express what you feel and stand by it. No need to worry (or enjoy too much) being "controversial" or ruffling feathers. That's going to happen no matter what, so just share your ideas and hopefully you'll find some new bands you like as well.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Well, we have the album, it's just hard to get into I guess. I do like the songs I know though (I like Another Brick in the Wall and Comfortably Numb and Hey You).
Anyway, I posted another review.
(Should I be announcing my reviews here, or is there a separate place for that, or should I not announce them at all? I'm sorry if I'm not following the rules)

You know that synthesizer solo in "The Revealing Science of God?" Yeah, worst moment in music.

Wow! If you like Final Cut you really need to get The Wall. Trust me, you won't regret spending that money. Radio hits aside, it's the other lesser known moments that make it a special album and many of those tracks are very similar in feel to FC tracks.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought people hated that album, but it's my favorite one. As for The Wall, I'm sorry that I really only know the "radio hits."

Beautifully done summation of your feelings, and nothing should be controversial there. A natural continuation of The Wall and the short, lovely pieces like "Southampton Dock" echo stuff like "Vera Lynn" in their ability to draw visual images in your mind.

Actually I completely agree with your review. I don't know why The Final Cut ruffles so many feathers.

I just posted a review. I guess it might be pretty controversial, but I guess that's too bad.

On a serious note,
I like your nick. Seems you're a Queen fan too.
Welcome aboard! BTW, you're 26 and you already have two children? You must have started early. I'm almost 30 still don't feel ready for that.

Anyway, I think my reviews will shake things up around here, because I'm really shocked about the way people have rated certain albums. But I'm working on them!

Nothing's really shocking around here. Most people have a set of albums they don't like, like I rated SFAM with a 2. In fact, people probably will praise you more for having unique tastes than anything.
You're right actually, we're a weird bunch.

I'm guessing you'd include Radiohead in with those then.
