It's been a while since I last posted in here, these are my recent faves:
Gong ~ the new album is simply wonderful
Paradise Lost ~ the new album is simply awesome
Season's End ~ no new album yet, but I've heard a demo of 2 of the tracks, one of which is a song I've been waiting 4 years for them to record.

Right now this has dominated my stereo:
Savatage Iron Maiden Pain of Salvation
I've been in a more traditional heavy metal mood right now, and Savatage and Iron Maiden are just excellent. I've been listening to Pain of Salvation's Scarsick a lot lately, and I keep hoping that will grow on me.
/EDIT: Been listening to Transatlantic's The Whirlwind a lot lately as well.

VDGG/Peter Hammill for sure Mike Oldfield will always be one of my favorites simply for creating Amarok Then maybe Glass Hammer?
I dunno. My most recent often-played albums are by Transatlantic, The Decemberists and probably IQ if that answers the question better.
