Topic: Chris Cornell or Eddie Vedder Posted: December 28 2009 at 14:34 |
A grunge oriented post!!! Eddie Vedder, just brilliant. But Chris Cornell is pretty damn good too.

I'll have to go with Cornell. Both good singers, but neither rank among my favorites. I guess I just dig Soundgarden more than Pearl Jam.

Chris Cornell wins easily for me. Not only does he have a fantastic voice, ha also writes fantastic and original lyrics! I LOVE Soundgarden!

my God..!!! this is so wrong... Vedder is way more better, with soul and character... and as some other said above, Cornell's in Audioslave... the worst band ever, just behind Coldplay and U2.... so I choose Vedder any day, any how... and also he plays well the guitar... well for grunge standards so... jejeje... Vedder should be..!!!

I think Chris's last....8 years have been filled with bland music. But before then he was awesome. Eddie was great too, although I didn't like the last PJ album, or even both to check out that movie soundtrack. so......I dunno. They were both pretty awesome.

I don't dislike Cornell, but his voice is not THAT unique. Eddie Vedder can produce a deeper feeling (if controlling himself enough to avoid whining you could expect from someone with this type of voice).

Exactly the other way round for me. I've always been a huge fan of Cornell, especially his first solo album. BTW: Independently of which one of those two singers is your favorite, you should definitely check out Temple of the Dog.

Well I go for Eddie, he simply has a wide range, or at least a wider way of 'expressing', rather than Chris which sounds similar in almost all songs.

Cornell's voice is incredible though I've seen video of shows where he is really off.
Vedder also has a great voice but just not as rich as Cornell's.
Oh yeah, they're both at least minor prima donna headcases. Wait, they're lead singers. That goes without saying.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I'm more into Vedder. PJ and Soundgarden both are those "I own a couple of records and really should listen to them more but somehow I never really feel like it" bands for me. I also have Audioslave's debut, Cornell sounds very out of place on that record. But I love You Know My Name, the best Bond theme song after Duran Duran's A View to a Kill. But yeah, maybe I like Vedder more because he sounds more honest and down to earth.

Vedder by light years. I always thought Cornell to be so artificial somehow.

Vedder... Pearl Jam has a warmer sound and I dig that. Cornell is more
of a powerful hard rocker, it's respectable but not my style. Plus Cornell is partly responsible for Audioslave....

Though Cornell probably has a more powerful voice, Vedder's is way more distinctive, so I voted for him.
