I think since they are his movies he can do what he wants with them. I like that he inputs his opinions and thoughts into his films the way he does and see nothing wrong with it. I think it gives the films a much more personal flare and something extra to take in.

However, I have absolutely LOVED everything I've seen by him thus far, so . . . You can't really take what I said there too much to heart.

If I have jungle fever, am I obliged to vote for it?
4 Girls is the only Spike Lee movie I have seen (had to watch it in English class) so I won't vote.

I love Do The Right Thing and Jungle Fever. I voted for the first option.
Malcolm X was a bit disappointing.

I can't believe I'm the first to vote for Do the Right Thing despite the fact that I'm not the first one voting. Such an absolutely perfect film. And 25th Hour is one of my favorite films of the decade, and I'd put it third behind Do The Right Thing and Malcolm X (not including documentaries).
Sadly, Miracle at St. Anna was crap.

When I first saw 25th hour, I ended up watching it again twice that same week, absolutely love it.

"Summer of Sam" is the only Lee film I've seen, but I loved it. It had some excellent use of The Who's music in it as well.

We've done Fincher, Kubrick, PT Anderson, Spielberg, Woody, Scorsese, Clint, and probably a couple others. So now its time for Spike.
Spike is awesome in my book. He mostly makes interesting movies and learned some of his trade from the great Marty. His story's usually have some sort of race related topic which adds to the tension of the film. He can also be quite outspoken. Anyways he's made a lot of good flicks. Which is your favorite Spike Lee Joint?
I still haven't seen a couple of these, but I think Bamboozled might be my favorite. It didn't get a whole lot of press, I suppose because it was more socially conscious than his others, and more in your face. I thought it was quite brilliant though. Following that would probably be Do the Right Thing and 25th Hour.
