Topic: Dream Theater vs. Britney Spears Posted: January 26 2009 at 15:21 |
Did anyone see here the (unfortunately deleted) Avril Lavigne vs. Porcupine Tree video? That was another style than this DT-Spears, but I liked it.

Britney looks decidedly average, no matter what she's wearing.

gotta like the chick in the vid, 5 stars for her
not a fan of either DT or Britney musically but being in my mid-twenties now Britney was a very important person visually in the all important "coming of age period", from middle school up to Toxic, which was her crowning visual achievement, that and that one esquire shoot (you know what I'm talkin' bout, up top). haha

both are my favorite artists, and the video is really bad. Britney will front a progressive metal band soon enough, because she fits the style very much. This is coming from a long-time Britney fanboy and a young proghead.

whatever, LaBrie will get in a scuffle with the rest of the band and Britney will replace him
and then there'd be a DT - Arch Enemy tour

Toxic is indeed a great song. After hearing that, I could never take it seriously any more when people pointed to Britney as an example of "boring, repetitive, etc. etc. modern pop music".

So do I. It's a cool song, much better than "As I Am".

"As I Am", mainly, but there's a motif from the AA Suite thrown in there once I think (the first few notes of "This Dying Soul").
