The policy is to have one entry for an ordinary and a special edition.

It may give some exceptions - for example the cover art or track times are differing.
Inside Out for example has two entries for the album.

But in case every forum member is able to add albums this problem will come up from time to time ...
This entries should be merged as for my opinion - but we have problems with moving the reviews in such a case.

So the best way is to leave it as it is

EDIT - Sorry Bob - didn't notice you reply ... Smile

The policy is one entry per album only. Some were added before this policy was enforced, and now have a number of reviews. Unfortunately, moving reviews is not practical now (it affects the rating calculations) so it easier to let them stay.

I looked at Star One's discography right now - as a good example among many.

Their one studio release is listed twice - ordinary edition and special edition. And my question to that is simply - why?

Apart from this site not being rateyourmusic or discogs, other places the various editions of an album release is mentioned in the notes rather than being listed as separate entities - but besides that, imagine if we were to add up all special editions and similar existing of for instance Yes, King Crimson or *shudder* Hawkwind?

So the follow up question is quite logical: What is site policy when it comes to different editions, and does the example mentioned follow these?
