Hey guys,

Andy - Lincoln is probably a bit too much of a trek for either of us...even meeting half way would take about an hour. Just out of interest - if you've not bought your DTX yet, try the Roland TD6 kit - I have one and it's brilliant. Smile

Obsidion - there are plenty of regular bands looking for bassplayers but no prog bands around. I don't have loads of spare time so I want whatever band I dedicate that time to, to be more my kind of music....otherwise I'll just stick to spending that time writing. There are quite a few decent bassists around - there are also a lot of bands that don't necessarily need a decent bassist (lots of USA punk bands), which makes the choice quite limited.

So bumpity bump - if there are any Midlands based proggy musos out there, get in touch Smile

Giles

Man if you were in Ireland there would be a lot of bands interested. There seems to be a lot of bands looking for bass players at the moment over here as bass players seem to be in short supply (i myself was poached from another band to the one im in now lol). Are there a lot of good bassists in England at the moment?

Hey Giles,

where in the Midlands are you? Im in lincoln.  I'm very much into 'Frost', 'It Bites' so that would be a good for starters. I play drums although I aint played for a while but have been thinking seriously of geeting back to playing. dont have a kit at the mo....BUT!!!!....was thinking of getting a Yamaha DTXpress, just as good as acoustic without the noise and easier to get around.

So let me know your thoughts

Cheers

Andy.

Hello all,

Having taken a bit of a hiatus from playing, I've started writing and I'm keen to join/form a prog band based somewhere around the Midlands.

If anyone is interested, please get in touch.

I'm personally into It Bites, Frost*, Marillion, bits of Rush, Porcupine Tree but open to most forms of prog (except the folky stuff)!! I also love funk, rock and intelligent pop.

I'm a very competent player - grew up on IB and Marillion and played in Ad Nauseum with Jon Poole and Bob Leith from Cardiacs when I was a youthful 19...now quite a bit older - but still as youthful!!

I have a rehearsal/recording studio with everything required for easy rehearsals and writing.

So...get in touch if I haven't bored you to tears with my inane drivel.

Cheers,

Giles
