Topic: Extremely hard poll 2 (I hope it works again) Posted: September 30 2008 at 12:59 |
The Musical Box and Dogs are two prfect songs, but the former just gets it for me. Starless is great but the climax isnt the Earth shattering explosion I was hopping for. And You And I is utterly boreing .

Another top notch poll Zitro!
A tough choice and I am stuck between Dogs & And You and I. I will go and lie in a darkened room for a few hours and return later to cast my vote.

"Starless" for me. I love the way it builds up on one note of Fripp in the instrumental part which slowly gets higher and higher until the guitar finally shrieks in ecstasy. But good songs except for the Pink Floyd one. I dislike "Animals".

Yikes! Another hard one... This time around Yes narrowly defeats Genesis.

went with Dogs because it had fewer votes, on another day or mood I could have voted The Musical Box or Starless, all 3 are favs of mine.

Starless , boring? Its because its dark (no stars shining) , an ominous slice of effervescent melancholia that is hard to deny. And You and I is an excellent slice of magic as well. Musical Box is stunning (especially having seen it live with all the theatrics) but I like Cinema Show too. I do not care much for the Floyd tune. (But I do love Dogs!) . So the cosmic black hole wins her but only by a few atoms .

Musical Box and And You And I are the only two I'd consider real masterpiece material.
Musical Box edges it, I think, for the sheer power of the guitar/organ interplay.

I chose "And You and I". Such a pretty one. |
You're not alone, my friend. I don't like Dogs for that same exact reason. Well, I do like it, but it doesn't make me thankful for being alive or anything... And You And I, on the other hand, does just that !!! I voted for Yes like I did in the previous poll. And You And I Starless The Musical Box Dogs

Much harder this time around, but I went with "And You and I." Stunning chord progression.
