^ If you liked that Alan, I can recommend the follow-up, Strange Pleasures, which is essentially, more of the same and you really cannot have too much of a good thing

I can recommend Legend of a Mind. Some weird and wonderful stuff there, also includes Moody Blues, Wolf, East of Eden and Camel.

Cheap underground, psychedelic and progressive music/rock samplers 1965-1975 (3 CD box sets including excellent booklets with biographies)
There are now 8 cheap box sets listed under 'Various Artists' at PA, and each is worth consideration if you are interested in where prog grew from. Personally the two Decca/Deram compilations are my favourites. Whilst there are a few obvious tracks by the obvious artists, the majority of tunes held on these 8 sets (each with 30 to 40 tracks), will either bring back forgotten memories or give surprise at being heard for the first time ever. Inevitably there are make-weight tracks that don't qualify as psychedelic, underground or prog but.... and then a few of these you might feel should have never been removed from the archives. And in a few instances you'll be asking where is ***********?. In particular, that question comes up for the latest compilation issued by Polydor/Universal: where's Jimi Hendrix, when Cream and The Who are included? However, I do breathe a few words of thanks that we don't have to suffer White Room yet again as the sampler track from Cream (and course with no Hendrix there is no All Along The Watchtower again!!!!!). Amazon.UK are listing the Polydor set for under 13 quid and I guess if you are determined you can buy all 8 for about 100 quid, a real bargain for 300 or so tracks with few duplication between the 8 sets!
