Jethro Tull - the last bits of A Passion Play "Hail, Son of kings - "
Beethoven - The 9th Symphony
Gentle Giant - "Three Friends" especially the last few seconds with all the vocal harmony. Too short, but sublime!
Yes - Awaken
Ralph Vaughn-Williams - Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis (it doesn't get any more uplifting that this)
I'm sure there's many more.

The Star Spangled Banner(I think I have that wrong) sung with twisted lyrics:
"Well, the monkey wrapped his tale around the flag pole, to feel the breeze blow, to cool his..." It was something my mother taught me, I swear. Oh wait, no! It's this: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. It must have been cold there in my shadow, to never have sunlight on your face. You were content to let me shine, that's your way. You always walked a step behind. So I was the one with all the glory, while you were the one with all the strength. A beautiful face without a name for so long. A beautiful smile to hide the pain. Did you ever know that you're my hero, and everything I would like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle, 'cause you are the wind beneath my wings. And how about this?: Mommy, Daddy, come and look at me now I'm a big man in a great big town Years ago who would believe it's true Goes to show what a little faith can do I was complaining, I was down in the dumps I feel so strong now 'cause you pulled me up! Pull me up up up up up up up up I slipped, and I got pulled Pulled up, I tripped, and then you pulled, you pulled me up I slipped, and I got pulled, Pulled up, I slipped, and then you pulled, you pulled me up pull me up pull me up... Pulled me up up up up up up up up I drift away to another land Sleeping dreaming such a simple thing I think of things that I might be I see my name go down in history I was complaining, I was down in the dumps I feel so strong now 'cause you pulled me up! Pull me up up up up up up up up I slipped, and I got pulled, pulled up, I tripped, and then you pulled, you pulled me up I tripped, and I got pulled Pulled up, I slipped, and then you pulled you pulled me up! Pulled me up up, Pulled me up... Pulled me up up up up up up up up Edited by Slartibartfast - June 06 2008 at 22:31 |

Came here to say Hoppipola, but I see it's been covered.
That song just drips hope and happiness.

Good one. Boredom's Seadrum from the album of the same name is 23 more minutes of pure joy. |

Truly very sad. All my favorite music's sort of uplifting to me (well, maybe not Art Zoyd so much), but some are more than others. And especially the prog I like. Here's ten: Can Mother Sky Magma Kobaia Le Orme Regina al Troubadour Flower Travellin' Band Satori Part II Amon Düül II Archangels Thunderbird Cos Populi (or just about any track from their first two) Premiata Forneria Marconi Impressioni De Settembre Soft Machine Hibou, Anemone and Bear After Dinner Cymbals At Dawn Grateful Dead Terrapin Station I got millions more. If I started including exotica, synthstuff, jazz etc the list would be endless. I think I made a quite uplifting muxtape. Check out the Cymbals at Dawn track + Kha-Ym, and Non Credo... again all except for Art Zoyd, really. |

This thread needs some Zappa, Supertramp and Queen..
Something unusual here: Wise Guys - Ich will tanzen!, Akon - Pot of Gold
Also, try some Mozart for classical, especially his piano pieces..

If this song doesn't move you, you are a cold-hearted man.
