It sucks being Australia, thar be no Prog Nation tour here, and I like all four bands as well.
"my friend got 2nd hand high from someone smoking in front of us"Ouch
I hate people bringing that crap into gigs. With the exception of one really terrible hardcore punk band I saw (free beer was provided that night anyway, who wouldn't take free beer?) I think gigs should be seen sober to truly appreciate them.
Sounds like a truly wicked show Mike. Paul is an awesome guitarist, pretty cool you got a pic of him.

Awesome! Don't regret not buying the 3 CD, because the merchandise there was overpriced. You'll save money if you buy it elsewhere. Also, I envy you for meeting Paul!

I'm not sure exactly what 3 played, but it was amazing. They've got a new fan for sure.

This was deffinitley the best show I have ever been too. I went with 5 friends and one of their stepfathers. The line was huge lining up for the venue, we got there at about 5:40 or so, but as soon as the line starting moving along it went very fast. I got in and bought a Prog Nation '08 shirt, a DT bootleg of "Made in Japan", and an Opeth "Watershed" tour shirt. We were just about leaning on the stage, only one person was in front of us (left side, where Myung and Ruddess are).

3's set was amazing, I should've bought their cd, I'm still angry about that  Angry. BTBAM was exactly what I was hoping for and more. This looks like their best setlist of the tour, and they finally played something from Alaska! I do like Colors better but it's nice to see them throw in something different. About halfway into White Walls, my friend got 2nd hand high from someone smoking in front of us, and he couldn't stand up straight, so he had to leave to go to the EMS right before Tommy starting singing "This is All We Have......" We stayed until the end of "White Walls" and had to go check on him. We almost had to leave he had such a bad reaction to the pot. I was really pissed because Opeth had started their set, but we had to wait a few more minutes. Luckily where we were waiting BTBAM was putting all of their stuff away! We were looking directly at Paul, and Blake putting their stuff away and I screamed "PAUL!, PAUL!" We missed Demon of the Fall but we got to f**king meet Paul, get my shoe signed, take pictures and everything. Blake went back inside before we could get his attention though. After all that, my friend was feeling better and got the ok to go back in by the medic. We entered right as "Baying of the Hounds" was begginning.

I pushed through people, telling them that my parents were up near the front (they weren't at the show) so I could get back to where I was. Opeth played absolutley amazing, and Mikael is f**king hilarious. I can't wait to see them when they come around in September!

About 20 minutes after Opeth's set, the lights went dark and DT was coming on. This was only my 2nd time seeing them and I was jumping up and down like a little girl. I sang along to every single word of every single song (besides "Erotomania" of course  LOL). This was even better than the Jones Beach show on the first leg in August. Everything was perfect, except when Mikael came out to sing his part in "Repentance" the mic wasn't working until the very end so Mike Portnoy wasa signaling for him to do it again. After the 2nd time it was finished everyone let out a huge cheer. The medley was perfect too. I would've liked to see the new medley considering I already saw most of this one last August (besides Learning to Live, that wasn't on there at the time), but it was still f**king amazing. Petrucci's sweeping solo in "In the Name of God" was astounding.

This was by far the best show I have ever been too. I can't wait for Opeth in September, I would love to see 3 or BTBAM again, and most importantly, I can't wait for DT to get back in the studio and go back out on tour. I'll be seeing them every chance I can get.

Killer f**king show ClapClapClapClapClap
