Topic: Peter Hammill announces dates in U.S.A., June 08 Posted: June 16 2008 at 21:49 |
I'll be at the Sellersville show(since I sold my Nearfest ticket I decided to at least catch him here) . If anyone wants to chat before the show let me know. I'm not that familiar with his solo material(mainly just VDGG so I hope to hear a lot of stuff I am not familiar with; it should be a great show).

I'm an immigration lawyer, so if he needs advice, just ask because I'd love to see him at Jammin Java

VISAS FOR FOREIGN ARTISTS
As it was said, all subject to visa. This is always a major and most costly problem when bringing foreign artists in the USA. If You have to go to Europe, and You are American artist performing in Europe (except in the UK, where You need a sort of work permit, but it is so easy to obtain, easy as let's say, opening any bank account in any bank), all what You need in most cases is the contract and that You will be touring for less than 3 months and they take either Your social security number or if the management company is booking You, Your Federal ID #, and that's all. I hope this could be changed, but it would not so soon. A week dollar and the visa hassle is the reason because in the USA there are not so many minor or medium bands to perform often.
I hope Peter's visas will be approved soon and other dates announced soon. We need this kind of shows in the USA.
Cheers

USA
15th June Jammin' Java, VIENNA, VA.
17th June The Cutting Room, NEW YORK, NY
18th June Colony Cafe, WOODSTOCK, NY
19th June Sellersville Theatre, SELLERSVILLE, PA
21st June NEARFEST festival, Bethlehem, PA, USA,
(All subject to work visa).
In theory there will be more US/Canadian dates late in July, starting on the West Coast and tracking back. But at the moment this is theoretical!
