Topic: Do you work out? Or run at least? Posted: October 14 2008 at 15:48 |
If I didn't work out I'd get absolutley f'd up in hockey, so I kinda have to, but it's actually kind of fun after you get into the routine of it...except conditioning......no one likes to run or ride the bike

Just got through with a 90 minute run. Yesterday I bought my first pair of running shoes since I got married over five years ago, and I was eager to break them in.

I will get myself up to 150-200 miles a week on the bicycle, then I get a cold or something and it completely destroys my momentum.

I'll run if some psycho is chasing me with a knife. Who knows?, maybe one day I'll be the psycho running after you.

Golf, snooker and long walks are more my thing. But i play the drums, which is very physically demanding if you play for a long time.

I go to the gym about 3-4 times a week, although the last couple of weeks I've been pulling 18 hr days in the office and just falling into bed, rising and working again 7 days a week.......... I'll get back in though next week when the load is a little easier here.
IF i get to the gym and realise my i-pod is out of charge I envariably come home, I simply can't cope without my music in there, it drives me NUTSO! ha ha ha! But with the i-pod it gives me a good album or 2 a few times a week, which is defo a bonus cos I don't get to listen to much at work.

It is amazing how good music helps the workouts! Not only does it kill the time it also makes the experience more enjoyable until the endorphins kick in...by that stage you don't really care what is playing

I should but living where I do (Missouri) the winters don't allow for much bicycle riding. If I still lived in California I would be riding my bike everywhere during my off hours.

I run a mile on the treadmill every other day and I have to lift heavy furniture and carpets at work, so that generally gets me by.

I'm trying to get to the gym 5 days a week, I swear. But I am just like you. If my Zune runs out of power on me, I'll go home before I'm done. I'm pretty good about keeping it charged though. Better than I am at sticking to my program.

Has there been a thread yet about good upbeat prog to run/jog to? Because I defenitively looked foolish last time. |
I've tried many different genres. There's a lot that doesn't work for me, but Kraftwerk and loads of Can works well (especially Mother Sky, Oh Yeah). Guapo: both Five Suns and Black Oni. King Crimson the heavy 73-74 tracks. Magma De Futura, Köhntarkösz... I'd say krautrock and zeuhl has generally worked the best for me.
I go to the gym twice a week. As long as I got my mp3 player, I sort of enjoy it.
