Recently, after reading various Greek and Roman mythological literature, including The Iliad, The Odyssey – later works like The Inferno and Paradise Lost - and then my favourite book period: Virgil's The Aeneid, I came to searching around for music that resembled that of ancient Roman and Greco. I eventually went back to music I hadn’t listened to in quite a while – Nile, to see how in their earlier albums they encapsulated the sounds of ancient Egyptian culture, and soon after I found myself with this song. I haven’t listened to anything along the lines of Nile, or many particularly “heavy” bands in almost a year so I thought I’d best pay homage to something that remains an influence, all be it in the undertow, and recorded this piece. I had a lot of fun making this track, ‘Facilis Descensus Averni’, so take a listen and let me know what you think, if you like.

On a side note I haven't posted much of my work on this site before, so feel free to check out my other songs and comment by will (as you're all more progressive fans, I like you might like the song 'Density' I have on this page).

Hope you enjoy!
