It's not necessarily an annual thing, more just whenever someone finds the time and energy to set the contest up (tallying the scores up is a very tedious process). I've been considering giving it a go in the next month when I have some time off for Christmas, so stay tuned.

I haven't heard much better in Prog electronic.

Hmm. Well I can. All the way up to the early 80s until tailing off with that horrible Casio type sound... But Phaedra, Rubycon, Encore, Stratosfear (i.e. '67 - '80) all should be there and even though it gets some sort of negativity (vocals is it?) Cyclone's just fine. A band that used to jam at Salvador Dali's place. How cool is that...

I like Tiger too. I LOVE TD 70's and 80's and I have all of their released in 70's and 80's.
I don't mistake about you Meltdowner. Your opinion in some cases is very similar to mine. Now in this thread I shocked. You talked about TD 70's and specially 80's. You know Prog fan's opinions about 80's Prog albums!!

Must've been 5 years since I last span Underwater Sunlight. I thought it was a tad too 'new age' for it's own good, but it was a fairly relaxing morning listen. Time for a revisit methinks.

I like both 70's and 80's TD, even though they sound completely different. There are some really good albums after the 80's but there are so many cr*ppy albums, so it's not easy to find them

Hard to say. There are different fractions of us. I belong to the one that believes the first 10 years of their career were the best - let's call it the mad dog space invaders camp. Then there's the one that swears by 80s TD, where Froese opted for the compositional direction and started fiddling about with Schmoelling ; the bip bip period. I'm not sure if there's a last fraction though, but I sincerely hope not. What came after and continued up until the end was a loooong smorgasbord of the same fish being served over and over again. No offense meant to my beloved Edgar, but he should've taken a break from recording. Maybe smoked some weed on a deserted island and gathered some inspiration from the local wildlife.

Depends on the album really. Cyclone is definitely in the vicinity of bananas.

David, in regards to your fruit theme, would Tangerine Dream be in your banana-flavored box?

You are aware that poll was done in 2008, yes? Most of those people are in retirement homes or dead.

I'm not surprised at the albums on here, but does anyone else have the same following reaction:
"Uh, huh....Oh that's a good one! I forgot about that, I'd better give it a listen soon...er...right now! Oh my God I LOVE that album!"
As I scroll through the list, it's been like that over and over again.
REASON FOR EDIT: forgot a word/typos
