(on about jazz-rock I prefer Return to Forever and Di Meola... and Macedonian Leb i Sol).

I would beg to differ - by a LONG shot. Come on, McLaughlin played at Woodstock with Miles Davis in Bitches Brew. Jazz/fusion musicians take the cake for best musicianship as an overall genre I think, especially compared to the competent Kansas. All hail Mahavishnu Orchestra!

I really want to vote for MO because of all the great things i've heard about them, it is a shame ill have to pass on this one because of my ignorance. Even though i play the violin, kansas doesn't rally make it for me

Cobham,Laird, Hammer, Goodman and McLaughlin vs Livgren, maybe Walsh, perhaps Steinhart but Hope, Ehart are an average rhythm section. Mahavishnu wins, this playoff.
