Place: Philly/New Jersey

Guitarist and/or Keyboardist Needed for Est. Avant/Prog Band w/ label (The Red Masque)

SEEKING GUITARIST, KEYBOARDIST or MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST: We are a 3 piece (drums, bass, vox) active since 2001 with a new album on a national label. Drummer and bassist also play keys and other instruments but we would like a fourth member. We live in Philly but rehearsal space/studio is in NJ. We are currently performing with a fourth musician; however, he is only filling in temporarily.

The ideal candidate would be a keyboardist or guitarist or multi-instrumentalist who understands the music we are playing and would be able to fit right in and learn the songs quickly without too much training. We are looking for serious, focused, drug-free individuals. Influences: progressive and psychedelic rock, kraut rock, avant garde, soundtracks. Songs are primarily based around the rhythm section. Candidate must understand mood, textures and subtlety but also be able to create chaos and noise at times. Influences: Van Der Graaf Generator, Magma, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Faust, King Crimson, etc. We are not looking for a “w**ky” guitarist or keyboardist, but someone who understands moods and textures, as well as has the technical ability to play what is needed. Candidate should have their own equipment and transportation, as well as the time available to rehearse at least once a week (and rehearse more than that before upcoming shows). We'd also ideally like to be able to do some tours at some point.

Please visit http://www.theredmasque.com or http://myspace.com/myredmasque.com to hear our music and see if this is something you would be interested in and are able to play. This is primarily an “in it for the love of music” project; however, we are very serious about rehearsals, and playing in a professional manner. We have downloads and videos available on our website at http://www.theredmasque.com.

A couple example videos: http://www.vimeo.com/3136779

http://www.vimeo.com/2710962

We hope to hear from you. Thank you for your time. Please email inquiries to [email protected].

Looking for musicians who enjoy prog rock as well as many other types of music to collaborate with.  I write music and mainly play keyboard, but can also sing and play guitar.  In particular, I am hoping to find someone who can play the guitar much better than I can, and who would enjoy writing new music with someone else.  But please go ahead and PM me regardless of what instrument you play.  You can hear a few songs I wrote at www.myspace.com/sonolumina
Check out the Unsigned Bands section!

I have a Zeuhl/R.I.O band called Corima and we were formed in El Paso but just recently moved to Los Angeles, CA. The only member that wasn't able to move with us was our bassist so we're looking for a bassist in the Los Angeles area preferably between 20-25 years old. Our influences: Magma, Koenjihyakkei, Present, Ruins etc.

Area: Los Angeles, California
Seeking: Bassist to join Zeuhl/R.I.O band
Experience: We have a 65 min debut cd and we toured the east coast last summer and played with great bands such as Ahleuchatistas, The Red Masque, Child Abuse etc. You can hear our music here: www.myspace.com/corima

Any help is very very much appreciated!

I'm a guitarist and songweiter in WV, USA. I'm full of ideas, but unfortunately don't have all the musical chops to pull it all off myself. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone even remotely close to me would drop me a PM and tell me whether or not you are interested. I really need to start playing with other proggers, man!

I'm looking primarily for a lead guitarist, keyboardist and drummer right now. I already have a bassist at the moment. If any of these guys can sing, that would be an added bonus, but it isn't a requirement.

Please get in touch with me if you are interested. Thank you.

Two friends of mine and I are looking for a bass player and keyboardist (as in two people, not like Geddy Lee) to complete a band. We are looking for someone that has a good amount of expirience, but is also in our age group (13-15). We practice weekly during school weeks and 1-3 practices a week during summer. Ability to sing/death growl welcome as well.

Although the chances of finding someone are low here, theres no pain in trying. If you are interested private message me

Thanks,
Matt

I'm his friend who plays guitar Big%20smile

Also add to our influences Arch Enemy.

Here goes nothing:

Area: St. Louis, MO (also includes the Illinois area)
Seeking: Mainly at least one of each of these: guitarist, keyboardist, lyricist
I play: Primarily bass guitar, but I can fiddle with saxophone, vocals, keyboards, and mandolin
Experience: For music, 9+ years although for bass, only 2+; experience in school concert/pep band
Influences: Yes, Rush, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Weather Report, Supertramp, Kansas, etc.
Bonus: I have perfect pitch e.g. I can pick out note names purely by listening.  I can also read sheet music.

I want to promote that I am currently jamming with a drummer.  He's been playing off and on his whole life, but recently has been doing extensive basement jams and sessions.  He's a BIG Rush fan, but also enjoys Yes, Grand Funk Railroad, Robin Trower, The Police, etc.

I want to eventually compose/write original material, so I prefer people with at least SOME knowledge of music theory as well as ambition.  Also, to be picky, it would be cool if we had at least one female instrumentalist interested.  Any level of experience above beginner level is welcome.

I've played guitar for close to ten years, 3 of which were under the guidance of a teacher. I have also studied music in college and played in my school's jazz ensemble.
