The Beatles is very nice to hear. From the year 1966 (Revolver album) to their end (Let it Be), their music was really colourful and innovative. Their 1967's Sgt. Pepper and 1968's White Album then Abbey Road in 1969 was their peak of creativity.

The Who's Quadrophenia was non-standard, while Tommy was a concept album.

Porcupine Tree? I don't have much idea with this band. I only have Stupid Dream, and it doesn't attract me well.
Merdeka!

ELP. The others I like, some of them a lot. Floyd are a little boring but I prefer them over ELP.

Never really shown much interest in Zep or The Who. Listen to all the others, though...

Some of it was a success in my ears, and the rest is just......eh. Not my cup of tea. Everyone else in that list is just dandy with me.

While Yes is certainly more intricate than the Who, there are a lot of subtle things going on with the Who that pretty much epitomize the term "deceptively simple" and Pete Townsend certainly puts thought into the music. I see what you mean about Keith Moon, but there is a certain charm to drunken flailing, as long as you aren't the one who has to clean up the mess afterward.

I had a hard time choosing between Zep and ELP. I picked ELP because I would probably like Zep if Bobo Plant wouldn't wear such tight trousers. I can't think of a nice way to say ELP makes my spleen hurt so I'll just leave it at I picked them.

I have albums by all of them, and enjoy most of them a lot. I picked Porcupine Tree, although ELP would be a close second; while there are individual tracks by both bands that I like, it's unusual for me to listen to an entire album by either all the way through.
