The yes album 3.5, suprisingly better than i expected. Fragile 3, sorry i dont particularily like it for some reason, but I cant find a good reason to rate it lower than 3 CTTE 5, its CTTE nuff said. TFTO 4, this one REALLY grows on you if it were shorter it would be the best yes album Relayer 4, Amazing but not perfect by any count. Going for the one 4, One of the best peices by yes and is usually underrated Tormato ive never actually heard the entire thing so i wont rate it. Drama 3, also a pleasant surprise, two great tracks a few stinkers but overall good. 90215 - its been to long since ive heard it, i dont feel as if i can rate it fairly thats it for me, i dont think ive even heard any material off of any other album. |

Yes: 3
Time and a Word: 3 The Yes Album: 4.5 Fragile: 4 Close to the Edge: 5 Tales From Topographic Oceans: 2.5 Relayer: 4.5 Going for the One: 3 Tormato: 3 Drama: 3 90125: 1 Big Generator: 1 Union: 1 Talk: 1 Keys albums (Studio stuff):4 Close your ears: 0 The Ladder: 2 Magnification: 2.5 I agree with Iván about GFTO (all I want is Awaken) and I find TFTO rather obtuse in its concept. let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

RE: Keyboards on Awaken: I entirely agree. I've never ranked Going for
the One as one of their best, even though a surprising number of fans
do. And Wakeman's keyboards has a lot to do with that. The sound in
general on that album isn't great. It's very thin and tinny. It was
also the first album in a while that was not produced by Eddie Offord
and his absense is heard. I think the live versions of the Going for
the One songs on Yesshows sound better.
And here are my rankings Yes: 3 Time and a Word: 3 The Yes Album: 4 Fragile: 4.75 (-.25 because of Can and Brahms--eegads) Close to the Edge: 5 Tales From Topographic Oceans: 4 Relayer: 4.25 (+ .25 soley because of the lack of Wakeman) Going for the One: 3 Tormato: 1 Drama: 3 90125: 3 (I like the 80s Yes. It was the last time they sounded fresh) Big Generator: 3 Union: 0 Talk: 0 Keystudio 1 (Since when did "progressive" mean "regressive?") Magnification: 2 and I've never heard Open Your Eyes or The Ladder. Do I have to? |
