Topic: How Many Albums... Posted: August 15 2007 at 03:30 |
I rarely listen to "albums" unless I am in the car. I tend to put my computer or Gigabeat on random woth my entire CD collection. It's always nice to hear Shadowfax followed by Crass followed by Yes followed by James Brown followed by Strapping Young Lad followed by Stravinsky followed by the Residents.

4-7 is a good estimate, usually at least two, sometimes around 10 or so, not sure what my record is.

Now, during the summer, I have an awful lot of time on my hands... That, combined with the fact that most days, I'm a 'no-lifer', means that I get to listen to very many albums during a day. Yesterday I listened to about 8 full albums, and a good amount of random tracks as well, but this isn't too much because I watched a lot of TV as well. Friday had much more in store for me, about 13 albums actually. Thursday - 9,5 albums Wednesday - only 6 Tuesday - 12 albums Monday - only 5 or 6 But I guess my average for this summer would be around 10, except for the days when I haven't been at home or haven't had access to albums to listen to.

There isn't really an average number for me. I voted three though. I usually don't listen to whole albums. I tend to change cd's quite frantically, usually stopping in the middle of songs to put other albums in. If I have my ipod with me, I could shift through probably 20 albums!

I usually always listen to something when i'm at computer. So that makes 1-3 full albums a day. I like to listen full albums so if i don't have 45 minutes to do that i keep it silent.

Usually no more than one, if at all. I much prefer listening to the radio lately. And no, not the charts (Goddess beware!), mostly classical, some jazz and whatever they play Monday to Friday from 3:05 pm to 5pm in a program called "Musikpassagen" ("Musical Passages"), which can be almost anything but is always highly interesting. "Musikpassagen" always has a theme, but what that theme is is completely open. It can be music related to a certain country, related to a certain style, related to a certain composer, related to food, related to haircutting or whatever comes to their mind. WDR 3 is an excellent radio channel.

Depends on the day. 1 in the morning over breakfast if daughter isn't up and the TV isn't on, 1 in the car, then I can get through 4 or 5 while at work if I'm on my own, 1 before dinner and if there's nothing on TV another 3 or 4 in the evening. So that's a maximum of 12 and a minimum of 2 - or and average of 5 (but in reality much higer) and I rarely listen to the same album twice in one week. So when my wife complains that I could never listen to all my CD's in a year - she is wrong.

You have to take the weather into the equation in my case - during the summer I tend to be outdoors most of the time, so 1-5 sounds about right, depending on the day. However, during the winter when there's not much to do (here in Finland, that is) it might go up to 5-7 or so.

Hmm...not sure....it depends how much time I have.
I'll estimate around 3 or 4 on average.

Usually 2 or 3. Most of the time, I'll just listen to random playlists featuring many artists.
Although, during a long car ride yesterday, I listened to about 5.

I do about 5 on weekdays during the summer, probably closer to 7 while at school. Weekends are usually much less, zero or one. I picked five which I felt to be the best estimate.

Usually two per day, but lately I've been very busy and could hear only one per day or even none... But also there are some days, when I have more spare time, when I listen to 4 CDs in a row for example.
