I voted "disgusting" ... I don't mind tattoos or "mild" piercing, but I guess that the poll is about the more extreme ways to mutilate oneself. There's a cool South Park episode about the topic where people try to turn themselves into dolphins ... strongly recommended for anyone who's thinking about having their body "altered".

I think anyone should be able to do what they want with their own bodies.I don't approve of it,and think it is disgusting,but to each his own.

I am one to talk though,because I have quite a few tattoos but I think that is more body art than body modification.It's a fine line though.

not all body modification are disturbing and disgusting either anyway, it depends on how people do it

Seriously though, it's an unhealhty form of self expression. People are free to hate themselves.

Scarification is only one small aspect of body modification...so while I can appreciate you doing the occasional carving, I'm sure you'd be quite appalled at what else some of these people do...and not to a prisoner in a torture session, they do this to themselves! I'm not exaggerating either...I can send you some pictures privately if you so desire...

As for scarification, I can't judge you because I've cut myself in the past, although I don't do it any longer.

I find oblidged to agree that these people who do it do in fact have something to tell, and ok, I can't understand it, but I accept it, as long as it's kept personal, I'm all go for personal rights and all that jazz.

I created this poll on a highly controversial subject, so please use discretion if viewing body modification examples. It's not for everyone, and I personally cannot understand body modification. I know they say it's "art" and a form of expression, but the thought of scarring my body, mutilating it etc. just turns my stomach.

I'm sincerely interested in what others think. Again, if you're not sure what body modification is, research at your own discretion.
