Topic: How to make this website better? Posted: June 22 2007 at 22:54 |
There is a whole section concerning this...it's called Help Us Improve the Site.
You can tell I haven't been in JFF for awhile,so it's housecleaning time.

make a thing where we put up our albums for free, and you can only download as many albums as you have put in. Well maybe...it's just an idea.

If someone wants to rate an album, they have formed an opinion. I think elaborating on that opinion might help fly by night hate bombings or total fanboy glorifications.
But then again, zealots will have much to say about their cause.

Here's another idea, seriously.
For the rankings of albums, throw out a couple the outliers on either end equally. I am pretty sure scientific data is handled this way in order to produce the most effective evaluation. If an album has ten 5/5 and six 4/5 and one 1/5, you can see that throwing out an outlier from each end makes the average more realistic. The one 1/5 removed has more effect on the data set than removing one 5/5. It's all about the bell curve.

On a more serious note (not that the last one was a complete joke ), this has to be done:
- DO NOT ALLOW REVIEWS OF UN-RELEASED ALBUMS, specially when the "reviewers" are not even forum regulars and are complete unknown to all of us. The first review should come at the most one week ahead of the release.
- Make the "collaborators poll" at the end of the year not exclusive but inclusive to forum members, so that we have a result that actually reflects what people around here think... But, of course, make another poll only for collaborators. But LET THEM BOTH shine in the home page...
- Read the post preceding this one..

Do we really need a thread for this? You all know the answer!
GIVE THE T SPECIAL POWERS TO HANDLE THINGS HERE, MAKE HIM A REVIEWER, ADMINSTRATOR< COLLABORATOR, JANITOR AND COOK OF PA...but most importantly, SPIRITUAL ADVISOR...

Add the categories Prog Andaluz, early and new Heavy
Progressive Prog, Eclectic Prog and let's focus on progrock bands
By the way, this is not a joke, I am deadly serious!
