I don't think we will achieve a consensus. Both views are right. There is a reference to the album in KE's biography section now though, pointing to the Nice entry.

This album is a live recording of the Nice playing in Glasgow I believe. As such, it should be listed only under the Nice. I believe we should not look at the relative content of the album when deciding, just the album credit. I don't think there is any question this is a NICE album.

I have just moved the album from KE to The Nice. However, I'd also like to point out that in the entry for The Nice there is no discography listed for the band, as there should be. I know they were moved to Symph from Proto-Prog, so they were probably overlooked when the Symph team worked on incomplete bios. For consistency's sake, I think their discography should be added to their page.

Can ypu move it back? Its definitey a KE album with The Nice as a backing band. No Emerson...no gig!

Ian, I can move it back if you like, but I'd rather there was first a consensus of opinion on whether it belongs to KE or to The Nice.

Thats reasonable.Smile

I doubt very much that this is true. If Emerson hadnt wanted to tour there would be no Nice to support him anyway. In other words,no Keith, no album.

I have to say I'm in agreement with Joolz entirely and in fact was going to add this album myself to Keiths Discography.

It's not so much a question of analysing the content Joolz, but of where a visitor to the site might expect to find the album.

The sleeve image you have helpfully added gives predominance to THE NICE, Emerson's name being added for marketing purposes.

The album tends to be listed on sites such as Amazon as being by "Keith Emerson and the Nice", which is a bit like Rainbow being "Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow". The principal band member is individually credited. Shops I have been in file the album under THE NICE, not Emerson..

Note also that the third interview disc is about the NICE.

There should of course be cross references between Emerson/Nice and ELP in the biographies anyway.

It clearly states "Keith Emerson And The Nice" ... and as I said in my earlier post .... the Nice play on tracks 2-6 on CD1 only .... the rest of it is Emo solo or with the other musicians

Is there a way to assign it to both discographies without doubling the album entry?

Sorry, I disagree .... 'The Nice' play with Emerson on tracks 2-6 of CD1, but the remainder are either Emo solo or with the other musicians ..... much more an Emo album .... and the album cover has it as 'Keith Emerson And The Nice' which what I shall now change it to on PA
