What do you mean? You don't need to be in Progtology to write a bio. Just use Microsoft word or something like that and PM me when you have it finished.
Oh and I can't help you either since I only use it for the voting table. ![]() |

I have something in mind, but I'm rather new to the Progtology site.
![]() I may need some help in navigating it.

Thanks for those links, Anael. I have some albums by JOMF and Windy & Carl and both bands have been pretty hard for me to put in PA genres. I may need to listen to more of their albums to make a clear decision, but yeah, I don't see both of them as post-rock artists (maybe Windy & Carl, but to a small extent)
Shalabi Effect needs one more vote to clear them for addition and I'll be glad to write a bio for them. Thanks. |

My friends are classic rock fans and listen to pink floyd, genisis and similar bands dude thy aren't progressive rock they are classic rock - pretty big differance.
![]() seriously, just because you can listen to a band as one thing dosen't mean it isn't just as much of another. My stoner friends get pissed at the newer sunn material saying that it sounds to post and not doomie enough.
how much of thier material (from diffren't periods in their development) have you actually listened to. I realize they probably are not fit for prog, but i can listen to them as post if i f**** want, they use timbres and
crescendos . |

I'm going to be very honest here. I don't see myself as a post-rock specialist nor do I know all that is to know about it or even 70% of the bands being tagged as post-rock, but I'm a devoted fan of it and I try my best to promote and add bands here in the archives, but it isn't easy and I already mentioned the main problems: lack of information and the real world.
If anyone really wants to see the bands being added here then why not try and help us add them by writing bios or just giving us some useful links about them? I think it would be better that way. It will definitely ease the heavy weight in our backs. ![]() |

I personally believe that the experimental tag should go for the same reasons some posted it should be here. In my opinion Don Cab shouldn't be in the post-rock genre. Its very misleading. I know that the band and genre has some links with post-rock, but I would prefer seeing them in another genre or maybe even a more organized math rock genre instead of adding them in totally different genres (there are math rock bands in Art Rock, RIO/Avant and Post-rock genres), but thats for another time... I also don't agree with FruMp's post. If theres a band that could be considered avant-garde then the band will most likely be added in the RIO/Avant genre. Up to know there aren't really any experimental artists in the genre (maybe Set Fire to Flames,Cul De Sac or the already cleared Shalabi Effect if you want to call them experimental), so why keep the name? |

I think that the post rock/experimental tag is a good one as it covers all the experimental rock and stuff like that would really be considered RIO/Avant

I think the experimental tag should remain, as not all bands under that banner are expressly post-rock, namely Don Caballero, who really don't belong anywhere else. Also, as is being discussed here, there are many post-rock bands, but not all of them progressive... the team is trying to add mostly the experimental end of the post-rock spectrum. [/QUOTE] Shouldent you try to add the progressive side of both the experimental and post-rock genres, they are seperate most experimental is not Post-rock by any strech of the imagionation, though almost all post-rock is experimental, and to complicate things even further not all post-rock or experimental bands are prog though many are. It hurts too much to try to figure out.
