Sebastien, any chance you guys can update your web-site to list the gig? Also if you guys have a mailing list can you let them know about the festival?

Sébastien,
I did not realize THAT was the reason you wanted Hamadryad to play. LOL! I hope you liked your write-up :).
Gilles,
I tend to agree. Just in case we are scheduling ourselves so that we
will not be in conflict with the Genesis show. That way if somebody
wants to do both (and can afford it) they can. But I think we have a
great line-up this year and many proggers will prefer it to seeing
Invisible Touch.

Hehehe, I knew that people from the FMPM asked Denis or St-père but we
we're waiting on a confirmation. When I saw your post, I joked the
thing to get that confirmation but I finally got it the same day when I
saw Denis so...it was quite pointless for me.
At least I played a good joke (well, I found it funny.)
PS: Who cares about seeing genesis in a big stadium where the sound is
near to sh*t? People who are fans of prog and like your festival won't
pay for that piece of sh*t and won't attend it! They will prefer seeing
the FMPM line-up. Don't make band play on mornings, that's a suffering!!

By Popular Demand...
The FMPM is proud to announce the return of Miriodor for the 2007 edition.
It is difficult to describe in words the impact of Miriodor's music. Progressive rock fans like them because of the tightness and virtuosity that comes from their intensive rehearsal practices. Out music fans like them because of their comfort with dissonance, and complex harmonic structures. All music lovers can appreciate their gift for captivating and innovative melodies and the joy and passion that comes forth from their compositions.
With a variety of configurations under their belt, the modern nucleus of Miriodor dates to about the mid-90s album "Jongleries Elastiques" ("Elastic Juggling"), and subsequent albums ("Mekano", "Parade") have earned increasing acclaim and popular support. When Miriodor has played a show at a place like NEARfest, there is usually a lot of buzz afterwards from people who had no idea they would like it so much, who had no idea they even liked "avant-prog" (for the record Miriodor aren't big fans of terms like "avant-prog" or "RIO", but I'm writing this so bear with me). In a nutshell, Miriodor makes it easy to enjoy difficult music.
Last year they were one of the most anticipated bands and sure enough, after the fact in review after review people talked about how much they had enjoyed the concert. We thought, is it too soon to have them back? Shows what I know. FMPM 2006 attendees have been letting us know that for sufficiently good music, there is no such thing as too soon.
With continually evolving new material and old friend Lars Hollmer in town, who knows what might be in store for this year's performance? What is certain is last year has set a high standard and high expectations, and it would be hard to meet them again without... Miriodor.
Tickets for the FMPM go on sale tomorrow at noon. Gold and regular tickets will be on sale at the same time. Gold tickets are available exclusively at http://www.progquebec.com (which also has the lowest fees). Tickets are also available through Pierre Peladeau and Admission.com.
Stay tuned for further announcements in the coming weeks including pre-show information.

We had news from Genesis; they will play at the Olympic Stadium on the 14 th of september, so for those of you who want to attend to both events,( Genesis show and the Prog.Fest ) you will be able.
For Genesis fan; the show at the Big O will be made to have 40,000 people and they will play on a center stage. I think we will be able to buy tickets this saturday.

Don't worry abouy Genesis (well what is left of) at the Big O at the same day of
FMPM.The real proggers will be at the Salle Pierre Mercure because you cannot go
wrong with your great line-up and at a fair price (how much for Genesis?) and the sound at the Big O is horrible. So who cares about Phil Collins?
Keep the good work
