This looks remarkably similar to one of my cats (minus the shifty eyes LOL):

Have you seen Nora the Pianist Cat?

I love Nora!

It's a damned sight more listenable than some jazz pianists I've seen - love the 'call and response' section, too.

I have a black American-shorthair, and it could totally beatup all your guyses cats with its incredilbe boxing prowess (I taught it to stand on its hind legs and jab the air like its shadow boxing)
I am but a servant of the mighty Fripp, the sound of whose loins shall forever be upon the tongues of his followers.

I wonder if females are more affectionate than males.

I think it is just a matter of how are they... errr... ¿raised?. Anyway, I heard that the first weeks of life are crucial to develope a true relation with your cat. Mine, male or females, have always been tender creatures. Most of the times, they sleep in our beds. The actual one sleeps on my pillow and wash my face when I wake up, like if a were a cat too or something like that. She also bites my arms like when they look for fleas. It's hilarious. Your cat must grow in the company of someone. If they spent their childhood alone almost all the time, they'll get used to be by themselves.

No. Most affectionate cat I ever owned lived the first year of her life outside.

And something you might find interesting: black cats tend to have the kindest temperament, especially shorthairs. Of course, since most cats are mixed you can get pretty much anything out of anything: it's correlation, not causation, kids.Wink

I took her in after my Sister moved out of State and was doubtful at first.

But she's so adorable! She can be a bit prissy though. She HATES the vacuum cleaner.

Generally, she's a sweetheart.

You can't compare the bathroom habits of a cat (they dig a hole, use it as bathroom, and cover it when they are done...) with bathroom habits of a dog (leaves large amounts of sh*t everywhere... ).

Added later: I've seen dogs also eating their excrements. I dare you to show me a single cat doing that.
I've seen one or two of my cats eat puke before, it's pretty disgusting! Dead

When Vicky & I started living together, we got cats & were at work all day, so her dog stayed with her parents - whenever Penny used to come round with V's parents, she'd make a bee-line straight for the litter tray & eat anything in there... then come & breath all over you .

Cats are generally fastidiously clean (unlike nasty, smelly canine types), but tend to bold their food & throw up immediately. Then look round to see if anyone saw. Then eat it... then come & breath all over you

...lovely!

I once knew a cat named Mickey and he was the coolest cat in the whole world. He chased the dogs (who were four times bigger), he was one tough cat.

I've always wanted a cat but my brother is allergic.Unhappy

Good advice. If I get a cat, I'll do that.

Cats are great & relatively cheap pets until they go wrong... We learned many years ago that veterinary insurance is an absolute must; even then, you have to factor in the excess to be paid before the insurance kicks in (usually between £50/£75 depending on the age of the cat). Notwithstanding this, however, when our late lamented Dweezil had an enlarged heart & hyper-thyroidism over a period of about 5/6 years, the insurance company must've paid in the region of £4/5000 worth of vet bills, during which time we paid about £600 of monthly subscription & maybe a couple of hundred quid for other stuff... the insurance certainly paid its way then.

It's still the same - the cats have private health insurance, but Vicky & I have to rely on the NHS - I think I trust my vets more!
