May he rest in peace.

I was waiting for the second Crimson Jazz Trio album... It looks like it's not the case anymore. A wonderful, versatile drummer, very sad news.

RIP Mr. Wallace

Looks like I know what I'm listening to tonight.

Ian Wallace was still a great player as evidenced by his more recent work and despite his illness.

Apart from his work with 21st. CENTURY SCHIZOID BAND , jazz and prog enthusiasts , in particular, should check out his work with the CRIMSON JAZZ TRIO [CJ3] who are registered on PA. They did KC numbers which he rearranged for the trio and it's surprising just how well the tunes work this way. The playing by the members of the trio is top notch.[Not sure if Volume 2 is yet available but it is said to have contributions from Jakko Jakszyk and Mel Collins as well].

He also contributed to the recent JAKKO JAKSZYK album by playing drums on the cover of 'Islands', one of my favourite songs on the 2 discs.

IW was highly regarded by his fellow musicians and stickmen which speaks volumes for his talent and ability. RIP IW.
Looking still the same after all these years...

Wow. Another member from the Island era passed away. Is there something behind all of this? Ermm

You'll be greatly missed, Ian.

Ian Wallace had been ill for some time with cancer of the oesaphagus, he seemed to be recovering, but there were many setbacks and sadly, he passed away today.

His CV was vast, he played on hundreds of albums by all sorts of different artists.  He'll be sorely missed, I'm sure.

As I said above, requiscat in pace.
