Because that's not my system. My system appears into "Pics of my system" thread.

more tests to do, but so far the Roksan sounds sweeter...!   my Linn is a basic one with a Valhalla power supply, so it could still be upgraded ahead of  the Roksan, watch this space!Wink

here's my "new baby", a Roksan Xerxes turntable, better than a Linn Sondek/Ittok? - pretty damn cool competition! Clap

The little box on the left is its power supply, and speed can be changed from 33/45 by pressing a little button, no need to remove the platter! i still like playing 12" singles, and some Metallica and Oasis double albums are 45rpm. I had a Rega RB250 and Audio Technica AT44O ML fitted and set up by Richard my friendly hi fi dealer Harrow Audio   http://www.harrowaudiohifi.co.uk/about.asp

I fitted an Origin Live stub and counterweight structural upgrade myself Cool, and mounted the deck on 3 wooden feet, and added a Kimber power cable, the deck is mounted on a wooden isolation platform supported by wall brackets (about £8.00 from B&Q), a temporary measure for now. .  Fabulous results, though still came to over £500 in the end.Pinch
the two bottles of rum were brought back from the Caribbean islands by my sister Wink

BTW, your Etymotic are great. I've got the Er 4P, and the HD600 and 650, drived by A Sugden Class A amp. And i'm waiting for a "Stefanaudio Equinox" headphones cable.

First, all that are not pics of my system, but a friend's one, which is around 700 000€ for the whole. The Grand prix audio are american furnitures, and my friend have 5 of them!! (7500€ X 5 + huge custom taxes (7500€)and 1 year of waiting!)Under each device he uses the Relaxa magnetic levitation plates, around 1200/1500€ each, plus other cancelling devices between the device and the Relaxa (about 450€ per set). He uses 1000€ Richard Grey power Filters (he has a lot, a good dozen) + others filters ("Transparent Power Isolator"). The power cables are 2500€ each, the speaker's cables are 60 000€, the modulation ones are 4500€ each, the digital cable is 4500€, etc...

All that in bi amplification with two monster Goldmund monoblocks in the low and various tube amps in the highs (2 monoblocks of Conrad Johson or Tenor audio or Graaf
10 000 the pair), the best preamp in the world (Mark levinson 32 reference, 15 000€). He owns the best Stax headphones setup as well (Stax, 7000€) but never uses it. And i forget many things.

To sum up, he's not a little player and no need to precise that it's the best sound in the world, and that no studio can compete with that, not only because of the excellence of the components itselves, but also thanks to the excellence of the optimzation (best cables, best cancelling devices, best power filtering).

My "high-fi" system:

Etymotic 6i In-Ear Headphones (which are actually top-of-the-line), which I got less for the audiophile sound quality and more for the noise blocking and precision, allowing me to TURN IT DOWN and try to prevent some of that ear damage!

$80 or so from Amazon, I got a great deal.

My hi-fi speaker set:

Logitech X-230 speakers, hooked up to my computer.  about $30 on Amazon.

BTW, Oliver, I just converted 7500 Euros to $, and you must be INSANE to spend that much on a table to hold up your turntable!

EDIT: and you have TWO of them?!?!?!

As you're located in USA, i warmly recomned "Jolida"(302), a fantastic amp for the price, quite as good as a Conrad Johnson, for a fraction of the price....i think it must be around 600/700 dollars on second hand over there.

What they say here is true

Curiously, it seems that there are no conflicts, whereas this system is located in a flat.
