Topic: ¿Wich is best Neo-Prog band? Posted: March 30 2007 at 07:28 |
I like both bands, IQ especially for their early works. But Pendragon is my favourite neo-prog band.

Well said!
I am always amazed when people can't just vote on the available options in a poll.
If they wish to see another band/artist in the line-up, then they should start their own poll.
If I started a poll saying 'who do you prefer - Page or Plant?' I just know someone would ask 'where's Bonham?'
I actually find it quite funny!

Its amazing how sometimes there is so much division of opinion on these two bands. This is turning into a quite interesting poll and thread.

I don't mind IQ, but really...
Pendragon are tremendous. My favourite neo band (though Marillion run them close).
The only place I might prefer IQ is Nicholls' voice, which is better than Barrett's, no argument there.
But in every other department I prefer Pendragon.

I had the answer even after reading the options... IQ by really really faaaar... if only for their early efforts (I can't find anything useful in their latest production, but even those albums I personally don't like have more spark on them than any Pendragon album). Pendragon is boring beyond the meaning of the word.

Took me quite a few listens to start to enjoy Pendragon, but I prefer many other Neo bands.

Never heard IQ.
But I do like Pendragon's "The Masquerade Ouverture" and "Believe"

IQ ( I love them!)
Arena (some excellent songs)
Marillion (some excellent albums)
..and then I lose interest.Pendragon seemed a bit 'weak' to my ears.Nolan did better work with Arena IMO.

Pendragon for me. In my eyes they're second only to Marillion.

I prefer IQ
Ever is an enchanting album.
But my "better loved" neo-prog band is Marillion...
