A decent salary for a bachelor. I'm able to buy my basics and still have some for my indulgence.

True enough. This is informative about Proghead's profiles as is the education level would be also.

Just set up a poll without possibility of replies.

Ps:

I earn a fair living since I changed jobs three years ago.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Now, nothing, except the odd bit of cash from my parents to do things.

When I did have a job, I don't know what it worked out to, but it wasn't much. Typical teenager job. I don't care about telling, because I'm in the same boat as a lot of people my age.

I make just enough for my needs, and maybe a bit more. The funny thing is that I came into a large sum of money a while ago. I have most of it invested, and just live on my earnings. When I retire I will have more money than I will know what to do with. That is a serious statement. I don't need a lot. So it will be interesting to see what I decide to do with it.

Sorry guys, close the topic if you feel this way, I thought that "feel free to reply" and the "privacy law" option would be sufficient.

Anyway, it was mainly a joke - thread, I didn't want to offend you by any means. Sorry again Disapprove

you haven't stated whether the above is per week, per month or per year...Wink

my other problem with this is that because I live in on the job, I have a rolled-up wage.

that means, I don't pay for Rent, Council Tax, Gas, Water, Electric, Telephone, TV Licence, Toiletries & Cleaning products, Building Repairs... and most importantly, I don't travel to work... as a result, my net wage is very low, so I hardly pay any Tax or National Insurance, and it's supplemented by Government Tax Credits.  What I earn is almost entirely mine to spend.

How would you evaluate all that financially???Confused

I am not offended but where I come from to ask that question of someone is in very bad taste.

Personally, I don't know whether it's a very good idea to open a poll on this subject. In many cultures it is not good manners to ask people how much they earn. However, I'll leave it open for the time being, unless I (or any other member of the Admin team) realise that forum members are offended by the question.

I'm just curious about the global "family status", and I thought a forum would be the right place to discuss and to know more.

Just curious, feel free to reply if you want Smile
