hmmm... sticking with the movie theme... and with the detour into communism
From my favorite movie.... ever....
I told myself it was beneath my dignity for arresting a man for
pilfering firewood. But nothing ordered by the party is beneath the
dignity of any man, and the party was right: one man desperate for a
bit of fuel is pathetic; five million people desperate for a bit of
fuel will destroy a city. That was the first time I ever saw by
brother, but I knew him and I knew I would disobey the party. Perhaps
it was the tie of blood between us, but I doubt it. We were only
half-tied anyway. Indeed as a policeman I would say, get hold of a
man's brother and you're halfway home. Nor was it admiration for a
better man than me. I did admire him, but I didn't think he was the
better man. Besides, I've executed better men than me with a small
pistol.

Make fun, yes, laugh at something, yes, critize it, no! Whats wrong
with Comunism? In the purst, theoretical form its actually not that
bad, and dont come with "It has not worked out in the real life, so Comunism does not exist...", please dont, that would be very, very stupid

I would kindly ask you to refrain from referring to my post as 'dumb'. Last time I looked, it wasn't meant as a compliment. And no one said that Communism doesn't exist or anything like that. Anyway, I think this thread was about movies, and not politics or other such stuff. Back IT, though I have sort of stopped watching movies, I have seen my fair share over the years. Among my favourite movies there are quite a few comedies... If I had to mention two, I'd say Some Like It Hot and The Blues Brothers. They are full of totally hilarious lines, and both feature great music as well.

So....the Inquisition had no "true practicing Christians"?

No, it didn't. If they had read their bibles more closely, they might have discovered that nowhere does Jesus instruct them to go around killing people.

Those of you who took offence at the thread starter's sig probably didn't realise two things:
1) he's not been around for a long time (check his profile); 2) his signature is a pun ('party' as in 'having a good time')
As to Communism causing the death of over 100,000 people, it is nothing but the truth - however, I would also like to remind you that most churches (especially the one whose seat is in my hometown of Rome) have done exactly the same.

And since Communism in its purest form has never been practiced in anything larger than a Commune, Its pretty hard for it to be blamed for anything. Any socioeconomic system enforced through Totalitarianism is purely Totalitarian. Nothing more, nothing less.

I love Floyd but would have to say Python as its a classic.
Oh wait its the meaning of life, that film is rubish in my opionion. Life of Brain is so much better, The Wall it is.

The Meaning of Life is one of the most funny and sarcastic movies that I've ever seen!... Anyway, most of the Monthy Phyton filmography is really awsome. You can also try Jabberwocky the first movie made by Terry Gilliam after he left MP... freakin' funny!

I went with Indy. Now had you put Life of Brian instead of Meaning of Life, there might have been a contest. As it is, Indy rules them all.
