Yep, what they said, also, Jet Propelled Photographs was originally released as "In the Beginning" on the Charly label...I think.

Daevid Allen was also present on Soft Machine's debut 45"  "Love Makes Sweet Music" b/w "Feelin' Reelin' Squeelin'", recorded in January 1967 at Olympic Studios in London.

See "Out-Bloody-Rageous - An Anthology - 1967 - 1973", as these two tracks are included.

Daevid Allen had left by the recording of The Soft Machine (aka Volume One).

Daevid Allen was part of Soft Machine prior to their debut album and they made sessions that were released under different format. See the Jet Propelled Photograph album.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

There is some kind of confusion between the biography and the line-up sections referring to particular albums of Soft Machine.

The biography states: "The band emerged in 1967 as the quartet of Robert WYATT (drums, vocals), Mike RATLEDGE (keyboards), Kevin AYERS (bass, vocals) and Daevid ALLEN (guitar, vocals)."

However, the name of Daevid Allen doesn't feature in line-ups of the albums.

This is a contradiction, one of the statements is wrong. Unfortunately, I don't know which one is wrong, therefore I can't help, but I'm sure someone knows it exactly.
