I voted for Songs from the Wood.

Animals is my real favourite on that list, but Songs from the Wood is a close second and it only has a few votes.

I wish I could vote twice. Trilogy has some of my favourite ELP songs on it and it only has four votes.

would have been my second choice.... for all the hell and mischief about Rush... I LOVE that album.  but still  not in LTiA's class though.....

Am I the only one who thinks the otherwise excellent LTiA is somewhat spoiled by Wetton's far from stellar vocal performance? Or is it just me who gives too much importance to singing?[IMG]alt=Confused src="smileys/smiley5.gif" align=absMiddle>

As a bassist, Wetton was great for KC, but as a vocalist I agree he wasn't that good (at least with KC, with U.K. it's another story).  His only good vocal performance with KC was on Red, and even there it wasn't flawless.

Even though his vocals weren't the best, I don't think it detracts from the album at all.

exactly... the music and the jump forward in quality and  the coming togeher of such talent make this album so great..  I don't think the vocals detract from it at ALL.. .are we prog fans.. or are we pop fans here LOL

One of these:
Animals
A Farewell to Kings
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Free Hand

For now I'll vote for The Lamb, as I am so much into it these days.

Lamb Lies Down no doubt. Animals is close, though.

Wow, great minds think alike (not that i have a great mind)... I did a thread in much the same way for 4th-rate bands -- a joke title, of course, and had originally planned on doing third, fifth, sixth bands based on the top-rated album of each band in each prog subgenre..

Lots of great choices, not sure if I can decide on one at this time.

Heck A Farewell To Kings is easily better than that motley lot!

Only Animals and The Sky Moves Sideways really interest me from the rest.I've kinda over-dosed on The Lamb and dont really listen to it these days.

the mighty King Crimson though should be #2 not #3... a far far better album than Red which I would assume is #2.

Larks' is easily KC's best album IMO.

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.
