I must agree wholeheartedly, River of Life contains 2 absolutely brilliant
moments of utter musical genius, first when DiCioccio enters the fray a la Bonham on Stairway to Heaven and then when the mad violin introduces the main symphonic melody led by synth and the tron . ThomasClapClapClap

I agree wholeheartedly  River of Life is plain sumptuous with 2 major "moments of utter genius" 1- when the drums kick in and when the main synth-mellotron melody kicks in- Goosebumps then, now and in between. Clap

Theres something about the transition at about 2:35 in Appena un Po' that never sits well with me, i think it is very out of place.
 
They go from peaceful flute, nice medievil sounding stuff to this basically rocking guitar sound, a bit too much too fast for me.  Never understood the love for that.
 
I do enjoy the song thought, not quite as good an album as Storia.

There are many great PFM songs to choose from, but for me it's the original studio version of Dove Quando, with its gorgeous symphonic mellotron melody, and Mauro Pagani's mesmerizing, Ian McDonald like flute. This is classic symphonic prog, it doesn't get much better than this.

If you love River of Life that much, just listen to Appena Un Po' which is their own original version of this song when they first performed it in italian. I personally prefer that one.
