1) How many have passed by any place and seen people listening Brutney or N'Sync and asked yourselves (Or even others) How in hell can people this cheap crap? |
yes, when I was 15-17 and listened to metal and was "true metalhead". You got idea.
Today - never. I still think it's crap, but it's their choice, so I don't give a damn.
2) How many think Rap is written with a silent c in front? |
I don't
3) How many of you think that most top 40's is crap? |
I think, but it's not because it's Top 40, but because it's utter crap to my ears
Does it make me prog snob?

If you have answered one or more yes, you are a Prog snobs in some level.

Even worst than snobs are Posers.
At least most snobs kbnow about what they are talking, Posers try to appear as snobs but know absolutely nothing, If I had a dollar for each time I heard ´phrases like "That guy Jethro Tull is a hell of a flute player" or "The best Jethro Tull song is "The House oh the King" said by posers trying to impress, I would be rich.
Almost very Prog fan is a snob in certain degree, we may like other genres but we believe that Prog is more elaborate, complex or better than the rest.
Some people even hate bands like Kansas or Pink Floyd only because they had finantial success, that's what I call a fanatic snob the one who believes the Prog musician has to starve and keep the status of cult or underground artist to be real.

You mean they don't?

it takes balls to be a noob. gotta start somewhere, eh? it seems like geeks and snobs are the same, with snobs expressing general disdain for those with less "refinement" ![Angry](smileys/smiley7.gif) and the geeks just being (or choosing to be) aloof and oblivious. it takes a bold noob to challenge the self-righteous attitude of the snob.

All are necessary, and none of them is really bad, although I have no use from n00bs myself, that's always a starting point.

Noobs and Geeks have an excuse.
I guess I would also say snobs. We always attack what we hate about ourselves, don't we?
