Voted 1-3, although a fourth tab can be sighted occasionally. Mostly the tabs are one or two MSN Messenger conversations, Windows Media Player (or VUPlayer if I am listenin to FLAC files) and a Firefox window.

I have three area's:
1: The Quick Launch Area: 14 items
-Total Commander
-Crazy Browser (My prefered internet browser, a tabbed version of IE)
-Opera (My alternative browser)
-Outlook Express
-PowerArchiver
-Show Desktop
-Winamp
-Nero Startsmart
-Word
-Excel
-Irfanview
-MSN
-Calculator
-NoteTab (a plain text editor)
 
2: The programs that are active:
-Winamp (playing the Doors right now)
-Crazy Browser (to be here with you....)
-Last.Fm (to switch to when I want to hear some radio)
 
3: The programs that are opened at startup:
-Antivir Guard, Sygate Personal Firewall and some other stuff..
 
And the task bar is not full yet!

Usually just one or two(PA and AIM)Embarrassed I much prefer listening to music on regular audio equipment, sometimes I have media player open if I'm listening to some download, but that's relatively rare.

Yes, everything else is uncluttered. My Quick Launch has 4 items on and my desktop is completely empty (which begs the question why one of the Quick Launch items is "show desktop"! Time to replace that, I think...)

NVIDIA Settings
QuickTime
WinAMP
Virtual Daemon Manager (oops...)
AVG Free Edition
WinZIP Quick Pick (I might as well close this, I use RAR mainly)
Netgear WG111T (Broadband router...)
Adobe Photo Downloader
Windows Updates (yet to deal with these!)
Local Area Connection (my Internet connection indicator)

Firefox is open, but doesn't show at the bottom.

If he's referring to the window items on the Taskbar, then in my case it varies a lot, depending on what I am doing (work or pleasure). But right now it's only one. Smile
