Israel has for years compromised and traded their land off in the name of peace. For 2000 years the Jewish people have had no place to call home and all they ask for is one little bitty strip of land, yet they are continually persecuted and made to look like the bad guy. I think they are finally fed up and decided they are not taking sh*t off these people anymore. I know all Arab people are not terrorists and I am not a racist, but lets be realistic. |
Only to remind that Iran (and Afghanistan and Pakistan) are not Arab countries; the Chechens aren't Arabs too. Also several real Arab countries do not sponsor or support terrorism being also among the great oppositors of terror activities, like: Egypt, Jordan, Morrocco, Qatar, Bahrein, United Arab Emirates, etc. |
That's the problem when some terms are used in a racist context.
Arabs vs Jews?????
For God's sake, this sounds like saying, it's their problem, I don't care and placing two whole races and at least one religion in one sack.

I used to fully support the Palestinians a couple of years back, but as
I grow older and learn from life I realise that I can't support neither
Israel nor Palestine. Because as soon as a palestinian terrorist blows
something up in Israel, Israel blows something up in Palestine, or even
occupies parts of it. The only effect that has is negative, since more
Palestinians will blow things up in Israel, and Israel will blow more
stuff up in Palestine, and so it continues for, it seems to me, an
eternity. It's a catch 22 situation.
The actual problem is not that the Palestinians blows stuff up in
Israel, or that Israel blows stuff up in Palestine, the problem is that
neither of them are willing to get together and try to solve the
situation through diplomacy. Therefore I didn't vote in this poll.

Yes you're right, again I as thinking in Spanish and then translating , we say Árabe in coloquial language to refer both to the religion and the race, very few people refer to the religion as "Musulmanes".
But anyway, the poll is still sectarian because it refers to people from nations with a proper name refering to them as a Religion/Race (In the case of Jewish) and race in the case of Arabs.

Israel is acting as a swell-funded superpower with military muscles to
flex. These actions are just as much atrocities as North Korea, Iran,
or any other one of our "enemies", it's just they're fighting with
objectives in which we find benefit so we applaud it. This should not
be an argument where if you disagree with what Israel is currently
doing, you in turn support the Arab world. I know most people in the
west are racist and islamaphobic, so let's just leave that out of
things - continue to live in your wrongs. But even with that the case,
you should still recognize how wrong Israel is acting, and even as a
supporter of Israel, you should be worried. They have dug themselves
into a hole that is asking for violence.

Why, because you don’t have an opinion, or because it doesn’t meet your criteria of political correctness? |
Or because it could inflame things, perhaps?

Sincerely, a single POLL in the "team you support" style seems not fair, mainly because there are thousands of lives involved (also ours, directly or indirectly).
We could learn and understand better the situation in ME through a thread in the DNRTM forum just like some buddies are doing.

This issue is far too complex to answer with a simple answer The Jews or The Arabs (Both terms sound racist when used in this context, specially comming from a USA citizen, a country where no person must be identified by their religion).
This a problem that comes way from behind and impossible to analyze in a simple A or B choice.

Oddly enough, I get asked to take sides on this quite often. Political activism is a major league sport in Ann Arbor. My view on this is that there is no point in taking sides. This is a clash of ideology, and opinion. There is no way that one side will prevail over the other by force. You just can't change minds that way. The sooner that both the Arabs, and the Jews, realize this, the sooner they can start making some real progress.
