You can hear some kind of such laughing at the ends of Crimson's Easy Money or Sabbath's Am I Going Insane :-)

I love the sound of sea and gentle wind in music.

Running water can also be very effective, 'Discovery' from 2112 by Rush, the sea shore sounds in 'Natural Science'

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I was looking for one as well recently but I settled on a device by a company called Alesis called an Air Synth which is a synth that is controlled by hand movements above a light sensitive dome. They cost about £90.00 and I found it to be a very acceptable substitute.

I also love bells on songs like the bell tolling at the begining of Xanadu, In fact Progressive metal bands love the bells! But I can't think of other examples right now..

I just love belles!Wink

Not exactly prog, but the British doom band Cathedral used the sound of a flushing toilet at the end of their epic 'Voyage Of The Homeless Sapien'. Very cool!

And speaking of Roy Harper (I Know, I'm the only one who was), how about vomiting?  How many albums can you name with the sound of puking on them?

The best sound effect of all time appears on Roger Waters' "The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking".  At the end of the song "Sexual Revolution" comes the line "So she picked up the doggie in the window/the one with the waggly tail/ And she put it to bed/ Between two bits of bread".  Just then comes the sound of someone taking a bite of an incredibly crusty sandwich.

Perfect!
