If I can't hie to the top of a forested mountain overlooking the shining sea (with perhaps a marsh in the offing 'twixt peak and shore), I'll just settle for a ramble along the e'er-changing seashore, I guess.
Failing that, a mighty mountain -- I do love a good view!
Failing that, the sacred, ancient stillness of the forest.
BTW, my first scenario is very easily attained, where I hail from. (Here, in the middle of the continent, it'll have to be forest, preferably with a lake or river involved -- a water view is very dear/therapeutic to me.)
I love being outside -- I only feel fully alive in the fresh air! And now, my beloved BBQ calls!
PS: It's the Arctic Ocean (James Bay) via bike or bust, this summer!

INTERESTING POLL!
I'd have to go with the sea. I loved living in and visiting coastal cities or lake situated cities like Vancouver, Chicago, St. Petersburg, and etc.

A walk through the forest gives you the best inspiration for songs and fantasy-stories...
I love the eerie, acherontic, natural forest!
Peace!

A good hike in the mountains is always fun, but usually I'm home sundays.
