I like how kenny on South Park said it best : 
He said Madonna is an old anorexic wh*re who wore out her welcome years ago, and that now she suddenly speaks with a British accent and she thinks she can play guitar and she should go f*ck herself.
 
(In this episode kenny is on his death bed and the make a wish foundation bring in Madonna, as she's about to come in kenny says that to the make a wish people.  Its also the episode where Cartman sings Heat of the Moment by Asia in front of the US congress)

"Ray of Light" is the only thing she has done that I like. I own the disc and play it once in a while. Outside of that..............................................Ermm

Yup, Ray of Light is a good album...............but the rest............euch! I don't like her, (sorry Madge but thats the way it is) and maybe because I don't like her that reflects on what I feel about the music......... or maybe its just a chicken/egg situation.
But I really don't like her!

William Orbit did a record called "Torch Song" back in the early/mid 1980s.

^ It's because the album was made under the influence of William Orbit. Actually I like to think of it as a William Orbit album with Madonna on vocals.

Now it's funny that you should say that Ray of Light is a good album. It's the only one I like too. I actually bought it. Embarrassed I wonder why that album is so much better than the others?
 
You have to give Madonna credit - she has been popular for over 20 years, constantly changing and re-inventing herself. Few people could do that.
 
She's not stunningly beautiful but she makes the best of what she has.

Of course, I look up to her, since she was the energetic force that made the prog scene rise once again and without her there would be no 90's prog revival... but I still prefer Genesis and ELP myself!
