I would agree!

I would say that Wakemen is probably the best all rounder and most technical player on that list IMO.

My favourite for overall feel, and sense of melody, good composition etc, would be Tony Banks

However, there are two keyboard players missing off that list who could possibly blow ALL of these musos out of the water, but I'm not stating that as a fact because I'm not a concert pianist, degree level music lecturer etc etc so I wouldn't know for sure... but how about ..

JOHN TOUT - RENNAISANCE
ROBERT JOHN GODFREY - THE ENID

Does anyone here have a formal music qualification that allows them to make an objective and informed assessment of those listed??

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

For Yes plus solo career, I'd go with Rick Wakeman

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

anyone who doesn't recognize that Keith Emerson is the best Keyboard player has been smacked in the head with an old record and is still out in space.

Come bacjk to earth, this is an easy poll.

I've stayed out of this but I can't no longer this is very difficult but for sheer out and out ability it's a straight fight between Wakeman and Emerson and I think Wakeman wins.Just!!!!!!

Edgar Froese; he's been at boundaries where no one dared yet. Froese knows every thing about keyboards.

Rick Wakeman for me too. I think as Ivan suggests, the fact that he is such a successful solo artist, and a member (plus former member) of a major band, demonstrates his versitility. He is of course also enormously gifted, as are all those listed in the poll.

Quote BTW: I understand the Godzilla movie is already being screened by critics... so far the only good review has been for Keith Emerson's score....

That's good for Keith, and American critics don't like Godzilla movies. They're on the edge of their seats waiting for the next all-flash-no-substance Colin Farrell flick. Most of our critics don't recognize metaphors, anyway.
