That's a good way to go, too. And yeah, for all you who like this song (as I do), it's probably the dog. So, I know why I like this song. Just trying to help out others figure out why they like it (or why they should like it if they don't already).

San Tropez - Pink Floyd

Nothing special lyrically, can't think of any other song similar musically that I like. Just a fun song off a great album.

We're from Barcelona by I'm from Barcelona. A Swedish popband with 29 people in the line-up for some obscure reason. I shouldn't be liking them, but that song is very uplifting and happy.

Strange it may be but it's a good sign, there's still hope you may like pop one day !

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

The Supernatural Anaesthetist by Genesis - at first glance, this may have been meant as filler material, but what beautiful chords.....

Also, Prelude by Klaatu on the Hope album, just love the symphonic progression

Klaatu: The Loneliest of all Creatures. Musical-like pompous and banal. Still brings me to tears. I guess I know why anyway. Its because I am pompous and banal too.

Death: Pull the Plug. Its dumb and simple as a children's song with very ugly vocals. Still it moves me.

ELO: Yours Truly 2095. Dumb and Dumber. Sounds extremly dated. Incredibly stupid lyrics. Yet I love it so much.

Porcupine Tree: Lazarus. What is this? Keane, Coldplay? Yet its one of the only two Deadwing tracks I really like.

Outside of anything progrelated I have tons more.

Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

I wonder about "Heroin" by The Velvet Underground. Dodgy guitar playing, Lou Reed's "vocals", the keyboard plays the same chord (too loud) all the way through, the drums are wildly out of time and sometimes disappear from the mix and there's a load of screeching noises at the end.
I love it.

Rainmaker is a good song and I enjoy the whole album.  But since it isn't up to the previous standard of Kansas, it is often dismissed as being bad.  Nature of the beast.  What have you done for me lately?  And many other cliches that I'm sure apply to the situation.

As far as not knowing why I don't like a song?  If it's got a funky beat and I can dance to it...

But seriously, I love prog but if something has got a good sound and makes me happy, I don't care what kind of music it is or why I like it.  Subjectivity is what makes us human (as well as the whole opposable thumb deal).

Asia "Only Time Will Tell".

There are so many things wrong with this song and album. I can't help but like the song. Wish I could explain why.
