They're actually coming to Dallas for once, but I can't see them! Sure sounds like an awesome show, though. Clap

Yeah, i just saw them in Poughkipsee, NY - and they were hysterical! I had no idea they were so funny. At the end of their last song (East of Eden, West of Memphis) they did this big rockstar ending and Nick charged at Ryo and started tackling him! Ryo struggled around and was eventually lifted up by Nick and started climbing on his keyboards, grabbing onto his Leslie. We were all cracking up, including the Beard.

But this concluded in some malfunctions with the Leslie and it took Ryo a couple of minutes to fix it, but he didnt right away. The whole band walked off (since it was the end of the show) but Ryo stayed on to try and fix the organ. Finally he got it working... but it made for a very anticlimactic encore (since Ryo never left... haha).

They came back and started making jokes about breaking Ryo's equipment before Ryo started up Thoughts. This was the final humorous moment. He just hit the first sound of Thoughts and the crowd (myself included) just stared and waited for him to continue with the intro. Nick then stopped Ryo and Al chimed in saying "Guys, we're definately not in Europe anymore. Over there we just hit that first note and the whole place goes crazy!" So then Ryo wouldnt continue with the intro until we went nuts - throughout the intro he'd say stuff like "Come on Berlin!"/"Let me hear you Paris!" It resulted in the whole place going wild for the entire song!

What a great show. They even covered Genesis - Counting Out Time, and did do their traditional Doorway excerpt w/ acoustic guitars (only Nick and Al though).

I definately have a new respect for this band... they're awesome!!! Clap

Yeah, they played the middle section of The Doorway. It was just Nick and Alan. But that was only because Dave was sick and went backstage with Ryo. I was worried, but they came back and rocked the rest of the night.

Over here, they went off on teasing Ryo about his piano pedal when it wouldn't work (he was off key and everybody stopped, and Ryo just screamed at the top of his lungs), over-dramatic rock signs (Nick screaming "rock" in a whiny voice), and accidently kicking Ryo in the testicles. They had me in stitches. Not to mention, they put on a fantastic performance and each song was near studio quality, but not without the little nuances that make live shows so pleasurable.

Could any of you attest to my experience, and perhaps contribute with their own. Also, if any of you saw them with Neal, were they as comedic with him, too?

I saw them half a year ago ... they were awesome! Not that hilarious but still VERY funny, and they did some awesome renditions of SB classics. They proved that they are still an awesome band by any standard.
