I hope that Riverside comes to Arrow Rock Festival this year in case of Starsailor because they have cancelled.

First of all I'd like to say hello to everyone since I'm quite new here. However after 3 minutes of being registered I accidentally found this topic recalling me about one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
What could it be? Riverside of course!
Perfect place right before Mariusz and 2+ hours of perfect music...

Even now I cant remember how I got back home... haven't used any bus tickets or a cab.

And no... I'm not a 70-years old freak who forgets to take the pills every morning ;]

Very nice people as well. This band's going to be great!

Were you that guy mooooing after every song standing next to me?
He was enthusiastic, but he must have known The Boerderij isn't an actual farm.

I totally agree about the balance.

LOL Nope, I'm a girl Embarrassed so it must've been somebody else... Glad you agree BTW!

You really should go, they definitely won't disappoint you methinks Big smile

I visited them the day before that gig, when they were playing W2 in Den Bosch, also in The Netherlands.

Great show, great people, great atmosphere.

They indeed started with a brilliant (and heavy) cover version of Pink Floyd's Shine on you crazy Diamond, before they continued on a 2+ hours path of prog metal delights, featuring stuff from both studio albums, as well as something from their Voices in my Head EP.

I had a great time right in front of guitarist Piotr, banging my hands on the speakers in front of him.

Spent an average one and a half hour talking to the guy after the show, about all kinds of things, ranging from the specifics of the actual concept for their trilogy of studio albums (they are planning to start writing their third studio album somewhere around november, when most if not all of their touring has finished), to the position of Polish people on the Dutch job market. LOL

The other guys in the band are also great persons, but Piotr is one who enjoys speaking English the most... so do I so the conversation was great Big smile

I'm thinking of seeing them later on this year again

Cheers,

- Tristan

21 st April, Zoetermeer, The Netherlands.
Riverside

What a concert! Absolutely great.
You could feel the audience was positively suprised of the quality of this (not yet very known) Polish band. It was funny to see that the Riverside band members themselves were in fact positively suprised about the enthusiasm of the audience. They almost lost their cool and somewhat bad image and started to smile when the sheering begun.

Riverside started with an intro of PF Shine on your Crazy Diamond and played for more than 2 hours lost of songs from their two albums. The combination between the band memebers was great. They could feel exactly what the other was doing. Especially the bass playing vocalists Mariusz, with his sweet voice (it reminds me a bit of  Chris Isaak Confused) is someone we will hear off more.
Highlights were the encridible Second Life Syndrom and the instrumental Reality Dream songs.

If anyone was there, please commend. If not this simple review was merely a token of my respoect to the band and my thanks for having a good concert.
