^Yes. It's rather galling it's not available here because the way you describe Napster it seems like a great deal.

^ yes, sure ... my apologies if people from other countries than USA, Canada, UK and Germany feel left out. Let's hope that Napster will be available in these countries soon!

The question is: If Napster was available there ... would you use it then?

What's it for you ... do you use Napster to listen to prog music?

I do - and I'm quite pleased with their selection. Right now I think I have access to more than 1000 prog albums for just 10 EUR/month ... a damn good deal if you ask me. Sure, you can't keep the files once you cancel the subscription - but why would I want to cancel it? Buying these albums would cost me 10,000 EUR, and can be a subscriber for more than 80 years (!) before the total subscription cost would exceed that purchase price.

I used to have an extensive list of the current prog artists - just to give you an idea I'll give you some numbers from my winamp:

  • Rush (nearly complete discography)
  • Frank Zappa (nearly complete discography)
  • Ozric Tentacles (8 albums)
  • Allan Holdsworth (8 albums)
  • Tom Waits (numerous albums)
  • Echolyn (10 albums)
  • Opeth (6 albums)
  • Mogwai (5 albums)
  • Vintersorg (5 albums)
  • ...
  • ...

Trust me, the list is endless!
